Free Shawl Pattern

I adore this shawl and the pattern is so easy to follow. I found the pattern HERE however, all you need to know is on the two drawn diagrams.

Key:
.  - Chain
T - Double Crochet
O - Puff stitch ( Just search for tutorials on youtube if you don't know how to do a puff stitch)

Work this pattern for half of the shawl:

Once you get to your desired length (you will have half of your shawl done). Start to decrease with the pattern below:

My Beauty Bloggers VoxBox

Guess what?! My Beauty Bloggers VoxBox is here! I've been waiting for this thing to come in for weeks and it did not disappoint! Without further ado this is what I got:

This box included:
  • Bath and Body Works Mini Candle
I got the Cider Lane scent. Seriously, this thing smells like freshly baked apple pie. This is perfect for the holidays. The best part is that they are only $3.50 a piece! <3
  • Not  Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream
I can't wait to try this. God know my fair gets really frizzy in this humid autumn. $6.00 for full sized 4 oz bottle. I will post a review later.
  • Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit
These will be fun to try. They only cost $5.99 but look pretty fancy.
  • NYC New York Color IndividualEye Custom Compact
I was so excited when I opened up the box and saw this inside! It was like Christmas morning. I've been wanting to try this pallet for a really long time. I got the pallet for brown eye (which is perfect because I have brown eyes). For only $4.99 you get everything you need to make a gorgeous smokey eye. It has four shades, a primer, and an illuminator.
  • EBOOST
This would be perfect for the long work days. It cost $28 for a box of 20. Not bad considering the fact that it is much healthier than a lot of the other energy drinks out there plus all you have to do is add water.

     And last but not least...
  • Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin
This would be nice for a sophisticated bun for work. Looks pretty easy to use. Can't wait to try it. Its only $7.29

So that is my lovely VoxBox. If you would like to receive these awesome gifts in the mail you can sign up here: http://www.influenster.com

DIY Green Tea Toner

Green tea is a super food but it is also great for your skin. It is packed with antioxidants that protect your skin from aging.

Material:

Organic Green Tea
Hot Water
Bottle to store it in (preferably with dark glass)

Optional ingredients:

Organic Witch Hazel
Organic Pomegranate Juice
Organic Lavender Oil

Directions:

Brew the tea the way you normally would by leaving it in hot water for about 3 minutes. Once the tea cools mix it with any other ingredients from the optional list.

Do not make too much of this toner at once. Because you used only natural ingredients this toner won't stay fresh for two long. Make enough to last you about 2 weeks. It is much better for your skin to make fresh toner. Also, keep the toner in the refrigerator to prolong the freshness.

Drawstring Pouch: FREE PATTERN

I thought I would share my own project with you that is great for beginners. This is perfect for cheap or leftover yarn and could be used for so many different things.

I used a pattern from this website: http://www.stephthornton.co.uk/crochet/drawsbag.htm
except that I changed it a little bit to fit my needs. Here is the pattern:

Foundation Round: Ch6, sl. st. to first chain to form ring. Round 1: Ch2, 11hdc into ring, sl st. to join. (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch2, hdc in joining ch, 2hdc in each st around, sl. st to join. (24 sts)
Round 3: Ch2, hdc in joining ch, (hdc in next st., 2hdc in next st.) around, sl. st. to join. (36 sts)
Round 4: Ch2, hdc in joining ch, (hdc in next 2 sts., 2hdc in next st.) around, sl. st. to join. (48 sts)
Round 5: Ch2, hdc in joining ch, (hdc in next 3 sts., 2hdc in next st.) around, sl. st. to join. (60 sts)
Round 6: Ch2, hdc in joining ch, (hdc in next 4 sts., 2hdc in next st.) around, sl. st. to join. (72 sts)
Rounds 7-11: Ch2, hdc around, sl. st. to join. (72 sts)
Round 12: Ch3, sk. joining st., (sk. 1 st., dc in next st., dc in previous st. {forms twisted double dc [tddc]}), work tddc around, finishing with dc in joining st., sl. st. to top of first ch3 to join (forms last tddc).
Repeat Rounds 7 - 12 until desired bag height is achieved (I did 5 repeats total), finishing off with 1 repeat of Round 7.

Edging Round: (Ch3, sc in first ch, sk.1, sc in next st.) around, sl.st. to join.
Fasten off and sew in ends.

Drawstrings: Chain the length you want your drawstrings to be. sl. st. into the chain. Insert the string through the edges of the bag and tie into a bow.

Ta-da!!! You are done.

I used this one as my nail polish holder for polished I use less often. It would make a great travel make-up bag as well.

I am back with another post of random home decor that I found online. The truth is, it has been so long since I saved these I don't even remember the sources of where they came from.

Knit Accessories

As this was originally a knit/crochet blog I though it was about time I shared something that actually has to do with yarn work. I found these two cute knot accessories. Too bad I actually don't have the patterns for them.
